Mr. Ruiz focuses exclusively on immigration law matters and handles cases such as affirmative petitions, VAWA, U-Visa, all family based petitions, and removal defense cases. He works diligently with all of his clients to obtain the best results possible on all matters.

Mr. Ruiz is a proud Mexican-American who celebrates both his Mexican and American heritage. He was born in Jalisco, Mexico and later moved to the Houston area, where he has resided ever since. Mr. Ruiz received both his Doctor of Jurisprudence and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston. He is licensed by The Supreme Court of Texas and practices immigration in all 50 U.S. states.

Mr. Ruiz handles cases usually involving a spouse petitioning their partner, a child petitioning their parent, a parent petitioning their child, siblings petitioning each other, or crime victims petitioning for themselves.

Mr. Ruiz is accessible to all of his clients and all work is done directly with him. Mr. Ruiz arrived in the United States at the age of two as an undocumented immigrant. He has lived and understands the struggles that the undocumented community face in the U.S. and since becoming an attorney, Mr. Ruiz’ goal has been to provide the undocumented community with quality and accessible legal representation for their immigration matters.

Yesica Flores is the legal assistant in the office. She was born and raised in the Baytown area and she is passionate about helping the local community in their immigration needs through The Law Office of Luis Ruiz.

She is currently a student at Lee College and will graduate in 2018 with her Associates in Paralegal Studies. She loves to spend her free time with her daughter and her family.

Rosa Hernandez is Mr. Ruiz's paralegal. She works directly with the Attorney to manage the office, our cases, and communicates directly with our clients. Rosa has dedicated her professional career to helping the undocumented community; she has been an immigration paralegal for over 9 years.

Rosa is currently a student in pursuit of a degree in social work so that she may continue to help our communities. In her free time, Rosa enjoys spending time outdoors and thrifting!

Our office proudly stands and marches, with the LGBTQ community in the fight for respect, equality, and dignity. We have handled marriage based petitions, waivers, and other immigration matters for the undocumented or binational LGBTQ couples.
Since 2015 our office holds an annual school supply giveaway to help parents with the costs associated with sending the kids back to school. In 2017, we gave away 400 backpacks filled with school supplies!

Every December our office gives out four gift cards to help parents with their Christmas expenses.
